While I very much agree with council’s response to MAHC’s request by boosting the capital financing reserve to cover needed repairs at the two hospitals, I also agree that MAHC once again is trying to pull an end around to fund their choice of hospital for the future of Muskoka/Parry Sound.
They just don’t seem to understand that the majority of area citizens want to keep, repair and improve our two hospitals where they are.
Because MAHC is a business run by its board with no outside oversight permitted, I agree with Mayor Aitchison that perhaps the only way to get their attention is to withhold any money that could be used to fund a new hospital until it meets the approval of the majority of residents.
For the vice chair of MAHC to urge the district to start amassing funds is another example of the board’s total disrespect for the will of the people.
